In-form CSKA Sofia striker Ali Sowe is expected to be left out of the Scorpions squad for next month’s pre Africa Cup of Nations friendlies against Congo Brazzaville and Guinea.
Coach Tom Saintfiet has unveiled a provisional list of names which includes Ali but the free scoring CSKA Sofia man will not make the final 26-man squad.
“I’ve not received any invitations yet,” said the Dijon target when asked if he had been invited.
The Scorpions group for next month’s friendlies against the Republic of Congo on 9 October and Guinea five days later in the southern Portuguese city of Algarve will be announced on Friday.
The 26 year-old was left out of Saintfiet’s last squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and DR Congo in November 2019.
The former Chievo forward has been in great form for the Bulgarian giant and is now the club’s highest scoring foreigner with 37 goals since joining them in 2018.
Assan Ceesay, Steve Trawally, Nuha Marong, Mohammed Badamosi and Viborg’s Alassana Jatta are expected to be the five main strikers in Saintfiet’s squad.
Modou Barrow, Saidy Janko and Leeds United’s Cody Drameh are said to not made the cut but the Serie A quartet of Omar Colley, Ebrima Colley, Musa Barrow and Musa Juwara will be included.
